Description
The brilliantly coloured rainbow bee-eater can be found in most southern parts of Australia except Tasmania.
The vivid colours of the head, back and wing feathers contrast with the black tail and dramatic eye stripe and are all captured here with gleaming rayon threads.
Stranded silks are used to stitch the stem of intense blue, scented sun orchids with a wonderful combination of stumpwork, surface and raised embroidery.
